Design is art that’s functional. And good fine art is complimentary — it elevates. So, what could be much better than a delightful fusion of the two? Enter Plernters.

Plernters
comes to us courtesy of Sydney based ceramicist and self-confessed plant lover Bea Bellingham. Bellingham’s own creations are whimsical and fun — classically designed pieces adorned with heart-lifting little details guaranteed to bring a smile to the face. And it’s that feeling — of sharing a bit of joy, put simply — that inspired Bellingham to start Plernters.

Plernters
aims to bring together artists and illustrators with the world of ceramics to create limited edition runs of beautiful little objet d'art pieces. The first release is brimming with dreamy drawings by six very talented Australian artists — Alexis Winter, Carmen HuiClaire Richie, Laura Blythman, Madeline Stamer, and Elizabeth Tuck. (Yes, that’s right — all women!)

Each porcelain planter pot (plernter, that is) is hand finished by Bellingham and her team at her Inner West Sydney studio. The illustrations are extra kiln fired, which means that the pots are all appropriately weatherproof and scratch resistant — so, there's no risk of fading or scuffing.

Plernters are available for pre-sale right now, with planters expected to be ready to ship by mid-to-late October. (Australian and international shipping are both available.)
